Businessman arrested for molesting woman in IndiGo flight at Kolkata airport


Kolkata, 11 January: POLICE have arrested a man from an IndiGo flight at Kolkata airport for allegedly molesting on a woman co-passenger.
The arrested man, Sanjay Khand (52), is a businessman based at Gurgaon. He had boarded a Delhi-bound Indigo flight at Kolkata airport around 8.25 am this morning.
A few minutes before the take-off at 8.50 am, a woman passenger seated next to Khand complained to the flight crew that the businessman had misbehaved with her and touched her with ill intent.
IndiGo crew acted swiftly and reported the matter to NSCBI Airport police station via the airport’s duty manager. Once the police came, the woman passenger, who is a resident of Greater Kailash in New Delhi, and the accused businessman were taken to the arrival lounge.
The businessman was subsequently arrested by the police after the woman lodged a written compliant. He was taken to NSCBI Airport police station for onward production before the Barasat court in North 24-Parganas.
