DM cancels licence of immigration consultancy firm
LICENCE OF IMMIGRATION CONSULTANCY FIRM ?
Immigration consultancy company loses licence for concealing facts SAS Nagar (Mohali), November 30, 2017: The District Magistrate, SAS
Nagar, Gurpreet Kaur Sapra on Thursday ordered cancellation of the
licence of World Wide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS) for
concealing important facts while applying for it.
The licence number 03 MC/-2 issued on August 29, 2014 was ordered to be cancelled with immediate effect.
The company had been issued licence to operate for providing
immigration consultancy in 2014 from its office A-12, Industrial Area,
Phase 6, SAS Nagar (Mohali).
It came to the notice of the authorities that the company concealed
material facts related to registration of an FIR and its members being
NRIs in violation of the rules.
The authorized representative of the WWICS, Anuj Kaushal had in 2013
applied for the registration of the company under Punjab Travel
Professional Regulation Act for providing consultancy services.
On the basis of various complaints, it was found that cases had been
registered against its directors Baljit Singh Sandhu and Davinder Singh
Sandhu at Police Station, Sector-17, Chandigarh in 2012.
Moreover, both directors being Canadian citizens were not eligible to apply without taking approval from Reserve Bank of India.
After being issued show cause notice, the company representative
pleaded that no action should be taken with effect to cancellation of
their licence since their petition was pending before the court.
But it was found out that the company’s pending petition was about
challenging the validity of Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act
and not about cancellation of its licence due to concealment of material
facts by the applicant.
