The police are yet to make any headway in the murder case of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) staffer Abhishek Guleria whose body was recovered from along the Pinjore-Baddi road on March 25.
Mohali SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal said the probe was on and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate the case was yet to zero-in on any specific leads.
The police have failed to arrest Forest Hill Resort owner, Lt Col BS Sandhu, (retd), against whom a non-bailable warrant had been issued by a local court in Kharar as he had failed to join the probe.
The police had nominated Sandhu after arresting three of his employees, Gurvinder Singh Bains, Tarsem Lal and Balwinder Singh, who had confessed during their interrogation that they had disposed of Abhishek’s body following his (Sandhu) directions.
Sandhu’s anticipatory bail was dismissed by the court on April 18.
During investigation, it was found that Abhishek had died due to drowning in a septic tank, located in Sandhu’s Forest Hill resort at Nayagaon.
The Nayagaon SHO, where the case was registered, said he had recently assumed charge and was yet to receive the file of the case, and hence, could not comment.
The victim, Abhishek, a Burail resident and native of Himachal Pradesh, had gone missing on March 14. He was found dead on the Pinjore-Baddi road on March 25.
